State of Beeing

This series belongs to the time when I was just beginning to enter the art world and search for my own visual language. One of these works was created for a grant application in Calgary. At the time, it felt like a very important step, although now the result itself no longer matters as much.

What matters is the state of being captured in these paintings. I was going through a difficult emotional period, and the colours naturally became darker, colder, and more restrained. These works hold tension, vulnerability, silence, and emotional survival.

My life feels different now, and I find myself craving more colour, more light, more energy. I do not know if I want to continue this series right away, but these pieces still remain close to my heart. Maybe one day I will return to them, when I am ready to meet those emotions again through painting.
